The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent option for those looking for an affordable mop and robot vacuum. It gives a great mopping experience but lacks the features that make up its more expensive sibling.
During testing it was able to handle dust and dry oats on carpets with medium piles as well as pet hair on hard floors. However, unlike other models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, including the dirt compartment integrated into the base of charging. The robot will learn your habits of cleaning, and suggest automated schedules that will give you the ultimate hands-free cleaning experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once the system is in place, you can start automated cleaning with a single button click. You can select an overall clean which focuses on the elimination of larger particles like rice and cereal. Or you can select two detailed mappings to ensure that your entire home is thoroughly cleaned.
This robot vacuum performs well on both floors that are bare and carpets with low pile. It can pick up pet hair and clean large items up. It doesn't lose suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It does have a hard time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot claims it will improve with the next models.
The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that is focused on enhancing the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are standard however we found it only marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also features superior filtration, which prevents microscopic particles and allergens recirculating in your home. We think it's a nice statement however, it's not enough to justify a premium price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of a combination of sensors to remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, such as staircases and other barriers, and to clean up your whole home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, as well as set up virtual boundaries, so it is aware of areas that require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a robotic that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are just as good as those on more expensive models. Its mopping system is even better because its spinning pads scrub your floors much better than an ordinary pad that vibrates.
The only drawback is the lack of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, it's not a big deal when you're looking to purchase one of the best robots on the market. The dust tank on the robo-vac is larger than many of its competitors, and filling it up only takes two or three cycles, even when you have maximum dirt.
In terms of the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. The two mopping settings that it has that are less powerful than the high-powered ones, create little noise, so you can work or even watch television without getting distracted. It will gently bump into furniture or walls and then move away if it comes across one.
What sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to operate almost autonomously with very little need for human intervention. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical trash into the bin hidden from view, as well as washes and dry mop pads and replenishes its clean water tank. The app is good at notifying you when something is in need of attention, such as the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled vacuuming session being cancelled due to a full dust bin.
You can also create and merge rooms to modify how the Q Revo will treat your home. This is a great feature if you have multiple rooms in your home that have different floor materials or if there's some items that need to be cleared out frequently, like toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my tests cleaning up debris from carpets and hardwood floors on the first pass. It is able to even vacuum up wet spills however I would recommend wiping them dry with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a high-end robot vacuum and mop combo and more. It has here a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has a self-cleaning station that automatically washes and empties mop pads to keep them fresh and ready for reuse. It also comes with a sensor that detects obstacles more accurately which allows it to avoid falling on furniture or other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet high and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds--the entire robot and its base are much less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This version is also more efficient than the X1, as it has faster battery charging and can handle a complete cleaning of about 1,500 square feet on one charge. It also has a larger and more robust dustbin that can store more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that works even when you're at home. It also has an intelligent routing feature that lets it clean specific rooms or areas of your home, instead of following a predetermined route.
The Omni X2 Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested, due to its rotating mop pads that clean tough stains away and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent as well and it enhances suction when it detects carpet to ensure it does the job well. It comes with a huge rechargeable battery that lasts up to seven days. The mopping feature of the robot is also powerful.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end robot vacuum and mop that comes with a variety of convenience features you do not often find on robots of this price. It can make precise floor maps and recognize different types of flooring. It's also among the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. While these features are great, they also push the L10s Ultra into the category of luxury which could make it slightly more expensive than some homeowners need.
Designed to look like a modern floor cleaner The L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish that's enhanced by mirror plating and silver elements. The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper, which helps protect furniture and the vacuum from damage when moving through the home. In the pane in the front is additional navigation technology that is comprised of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top, there's one button that basically is a switch for on and off. The button will activate the vacuum. By pressing it again, you can turn it off and send it to its base station. The circular menu at the middle of the control panel lets users to select cleaning options as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons beneath the screen will open the app's settings menu where you can alter the way that the L10s Ultra integrates with your home.
